Artur Amiryan (BAPG ’29)

I chose BAPG because I believe politics shapes the systems that define people’s lives. My goal is to strengthen democratic institutions and promote responsible governance, especially in societies facing polarization and misinformation. I want to work on policies that protect vulnerable groups — including animals — while building more transparent and accountable public systems.

Right now, I am serving as a BAPG Class Representative and am actively involved in student leadership at AUA. I am also part of the TEDxAUA curation team, where I help develop ideas and interview speakers. One of my proudest experiences outside academics was participating in an Erasmus+ youth program in Romania focused on digitalization and mental health.

My advice to future students: do much more outside the classroom. AUA offers clubs, training, leadership roles, and real opportunities — use them. University is not only about classes; it is about building yourself beyond them.

Fun fact: I have played piano since childhood and find music to be my reset button.
