Nane Avetisyan (BAPG ‘25)
Nane joined the Politics and Governance program at AUA out of pure curiosity. Coming from a different academic background, she wanted to explore a field that was entirely new – yet essential both in Armenia and globally. Knowing that AUA offered one of the strongest learning environments in the country, she took the leap, without regretting it.
A highlight of her studies was a semester abroad in Germany with three peers, an experience that broadened her academic and personal horizons. She also served as a peer mentor for incoming freshmen, a role that allowed her to give back to the community and reflect on her own growth since her first semester.
Nane’s long-term goal is to help build more participatory and responsive governance in Armenia creating spaces where the public’s voice is truly heard and reflected in policy. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in the near future to further this mission.
Beyond academia, Nane has a deep passion for the arts. She has sung in choirs, competed in music contests, plays the piano, and paints for personal enjoyment.
Her advice to future BAPG students: stay open, stay curious, and take every opportunity to engage with your peers, professors, and the world around you.
