Mari Margaryan (BAPG ‘27)
My path to the BA in Politics and Governance began over fourteen years ago, when I first studied English at AUA Extension. At the time, AUA felt like a dream from another reality. After the Second Artsakh War, however, I felt a strong responsibility to understand politics more deeply and contribute to Armenia’s future. When AUA launched the BAPG program, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to turn that motivation into action and worked hard to earn admission.
Currently, I am actively engaged in both academic and student life. At AUA, I have served as a program representative, peer mentor, and volunteer, strengthening my leadership skills. My most significant academic milestone was an Erasmus semester at the University of Trieste, which expanded my knowledge of EU institutions and policies. Additionally, my professional milestone – an internship in the U.S. Embassy in Armenia – enhanced my interest in and understanding of diplomacy and international relations.
My advice to future BAPG students: dream big, work hard, and never let anything stop you from pursuing what truly matters. When something is important enough, you will always find the time, resources, and determination to achieve it.
