PG Freshman Student Tigran Karamyan participates in Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Georgia

From November 16-24, young people from Armenia, Georgia, Lithuania, Spain, Türkiye, and Ukraine gathered in Gonio, Georgia, for an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange aimed at promoting the integration of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) through sports. The program used physical activities to foster teamwork, respect, and mutual understanding, helping marginalized youth engage with their communities. The Youth Exchange focused on breaking down stereotypes and promoting inclusion by engaging participants in team sports and cooperative exercises. By working together in sports, participants learned valuable life skills such as collaboration, leadership, and self-esteem. These activities provided a space for young refugees, IDPs, and others to feel part of a community, while encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle. In addition to sports, participants took part in lessons, quizzes, and an intellectual competition, where one team, including participants from Armenia, emerged victorious. These activities helped build critical thinking, communication, and confidence, while reinforcing the values of fair play and mutual respect. The program empowered participants to recognize their potential and take on leadership roles in their communities. Beyond physical activities, the exchange also celebrated cultural diversity. Participants shared their traditions through presentations, food, music, and dance. The Armenian team with participation of AUA Freshman Tigran Karamyan proudly showcased their culture, fostering greater understanding and connection among the groups.
