Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Governance (BAPG) is a four-year program with a strong core in politics and governance supplemented by a variety of other major courses and free electives. As part of a liberal arts education offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, this innovative program provides students with the knowledge and skills to understand the relationship between politics, society, and governance and the values, beliefs, and institutions that constitute the governing processes. Graduates of the program will be prepared for leadership positions in local and global organizations within the public service sector. They will also be equipped to work within the private sector, such as with businesses that interact closely with the government, or with non-profit organizations that provide a variety of public services outside of the government scope.
Students will develop analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to discuss citizens’ roles within the governing processes, evaluate conflicting positions, and make informed, impactful conclusions on pressing societal issues. Developing valuable creative skills, they will cultivate their experience and commitment to the field, society, and lifelong learning.
The BAPG program will be taught by faculty who bring their experience from working in leading positions in government, public administration, research centers, NGOs, and more. They are regularly published in reputable international journals, participate in local and international conferences, and present expert opinions on domestic and international affairs.
Students have the ability to apply for internship opportunities at various state institutions and international organizations and for a semester abroad through Erasmus + Student Credit Mobility programs at universities across Europe.
